Community Matters

‘Neighbour’ is a Suffolk word for a ‘friend who is close by’ - so it’s no wonder our connection to our communities is incredibly important to us.

Part of that is local: The Adnams community trust* was founded in 1990 to support local charities and communities through grants, funded by the profits we generate. So the better we do, the more we can help.

Part of that is craft: We’re a member of the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA), CAMRA member, and, generally speaking, we’re beer people. We do as much as we can to mentor and support the beer community, frequently collaborating with likeminded teams around the world.

Part of that is our trade: We care deeply about the pub - for us there is no better asset for a community than a space where all are welcome. It’s why we’re publicans. It’s also why we proactively cancelled rents during the pandemic where other landlords simply delayed them. And why we’re an active member of the British Beer & Pubs Association, advocating for policy that supports and benefits our wonderful industry as we ride out these troubled times, together.
