Quality Matters

We opened our brewery doors in 1872 (we’re now over 150 years old) and by 1874 we were importing wines for local families, determined to put quality on the tables of our neighbours.

Our award-winning history of craft brewing was joined by spirits when we opened our Copper House distillery in 2010, and within years our debut gin and vodka were awarded gold medals at the IWSC.

And in 2018 we launched our flagship low alcohol pale ale Ghost Ship 0.5% - a real beer with the alcohol removed, using the only reverse osmosis brewing kit in the country.

Today we are still only a handful of grain-to-glass distillers in the UK - and one of the last remaining independent heritage brewers, blending traditional craft and provenance with pioneering techniques and technology.

Oh, and we also run a family of pubs, a very smart hotel and Adnams stores across the East of England.
